We stayed at this amazing castle for a friend’s birthday. There was a little sing song competition with an acoustic band made up of friends - so I played along to my husband’s guitar on my ukulele. Highland Games were played, I’m not sure I proved myself in the caber toss, the shot, or the Scots hammer....but I managed to play the bagpipes! Dinner was black tie and poetry and speeches were read between every course and meal. Followed by ceilidh dancing. Getting back to London now for cuddles with my son. But how amazing is the UK? What an amazing escape to take for 3 hours on the train from Kings X. Castle Yoga retreat anyone?

Our next workshop is with me on October 26th 2-4pm - £25
Working with body and breathe, we will explore and move fluidly and intuitively ‘draw’ a mandala on our yoga mats in all 360 degrees. In this element we will focus on our hips and sense of emotions.
The class will start with meditation and Yin yoga, consist of a strong dynamic sequence, finishing with Yin to close.
Suitable for all levels, to those looking for inversions and tricky transitions.

Just last night I was wondering how long we’ve been open, and to my amazement - one year ago today - I announced with very little fanfare that I was opening a small studio. I gave up my creative studio in Hackney I was sharing with friends for my motion design work, and wondered that if I had a slightly bigger space if I could do my motion graphics and yoga teaching all in one space. Blithe Yoga was at that time running as a weekly yoga/supper club in my home, self run classes in pubs, as well as teaching baby yoga with my 6 month old son. So it was a bit of a leap of faith. An experiment to see if I could do it if you will.
Then fast forward one year. Over 630 students through the doors; 19 weekly classes; courses; workshops; events; with 8 yoga teachers including myself & a handful of valued cover teachers.
I am humbled and so blown away. Blithe Yoga is nothing without our students, our teachers, and our community. Thank you!

Pose of Hanuman the monkey god. It’s taken me such a long time to make touch down with one of my legs here. Squaring the hips is hard and requires a lot of strength as well as flexibility. You can see my back quad isn’t quite there yet, but that’s ok, work in progress and all that.
I love how visual the name of this pose is, I can just imagine a cheeky deity cracking out these moves effortlessly. I’ve been doing a lot of reading on how Hinduism’s Hanuman and the Buddhist’s Monkey King are one and the same or at least Sun Wukong
(孫悟空) is an incarnation of Hanuman. And as Buddhism evolved from Hinduism this makes a lot of sense. It’s pretty awesome to find that cultural overlap, as a mixed race third culture kid from Hong Kong, I find that crossover so interesting.
